In memoriam: Professor Lothar Bernd Zimmerhackl (1952–2010)
Dr. Lothar Bernd Zimmerhackl died suddenly on 27 August 2010 leaving a void in both nephrology and paediatrics. We commemorate him as a man and as a medical leader who leaves a remarkable legacy of research accomplishments, and will be long remembered for his teaching and devotion to patients, to students, and to our profession. His professional achievements reflected his lifelong inclination t...
متن کاملBounding differences in Jager Pairs
Symmetrical subdivisions in the space of Jager Pairs for continued fractions-like expansions will provide us with bounds on their difference. Results will also apply to the classical regular and backwards continued fractions expansions, which are realized as special cases.
متن کاملthe relationship between learners critical thinking ability and their performance in the reading sections of the tofel and ielts test
the study reflected in this thesis aims at finding out relationships between critical thinking (ct), and the reading sections of tofel and ielts tests. the study tries to find any relationships between the ct ability of students and their performance on reading tests of tofel and academic ielts. however, no research has ever been conducted to investigate the relationship between ct and the read...

Let M be a compact manifold with a fixed spin structure χ. The Atiyah-Singer index theorem implies that for any metric g on M the dimension of the kernel of the Dirac operator is bounded from below by a topological quantity depending only on M and χ. We show that for generic metrics on M this bound is attained.
متن کاملSimilarity as Nearness: Information Quanta, Approximation Spaces and Nearness Structures
The present paper investigates approximation spaces in the context of topological structures which axiomatise the notion of nearness. Starting with the framework of information quanta which distinguishes two levels of information structures, namely property systems (the first level) and information quantum relational systems (the second level), we shall introduce the notion of Pawlak’s property...
